Sometimes I drink strong tea

and against all odds go on living

with myself.

Ms. Carla Holloway creates black out poetry from various texts, including Harry Potter. I like, in this one, the way the two words of which each letter is isolated are also the two words which rhyme; they are connected to eachother but not to themselves.

This is your struggle, you will fight the darkness trembling walking alone into the night

Six traits describe the human mind
each two sided like a coin;
the sum of these six tosses combined
determines which house you’ll join.

Whether bold or loyal, you’ve got heart;
whether cunning or clever, you favour smarts —
one or the other should tip the scale.
Now, I’ll look in your head and find your tale.

— Sorting hat song I wrote for 6-trait-sort, a sorting hat quiz I made with my sister.

"Come seek us where our voices sound,
We cannot sing above the ground,
And while you’re searching, ponder this:
We’ve taken what you’ll sorely miss,
An hour long you’ll have to look,
And to recover what we took,
But past an hour — the prospect’s black
Too late, it’s gone, it won’t come back."

“Mermaid Song” from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by J. K. Rowling
